Side effects of Venlafaxine. Immediate stoppage?

I've been taking this medication for about a year and a half. I'm currently unemployed and uninsured. I ran out of my prescription about 3 days ago. I currently have no refills. I'm experiencing zaps, vertigo and extreme perspiration. Is there anything I can do to curb these sensations? I would go to a hospital but have a warrant out for my arrest and don't want to spend time in jail with these symptoms. Any advice would be amazing.

Talk to your pharmacist where you fill, explain that you aren't able to get a hold of your doctor (or try your doctor and see if they have an after hours line), and see if they will fill you an emergency supply (generally this is only a day to a few days - depends on the pharmacist). As soon as possible if they do fill, I would get in and get a new Rx the next opportunity that you can. Effexor is one of the toughest antidepressants to cold turkey or just miss a lot of it without tapering off. If possible, I would go this route given your circumstances. If the pharmacist won't, no one you know can help you in terms of this med (technically speaking, you shouldn't share meds, so I don't want to promote that) and things get worse, I'm afraid that the best thing you can do is go to a hospital for the sake of your health. I don't think, even arrested, they could take you without first being treated. Please take care and I hope the pharmacy can square you away.

Where do you live? The hospital will know there's a warrant for your arrest?

When I stopped suddenly I just relapsed and only way I got better was to go back in them. Sorry. Try to talk to a medical advice line. Not sure who there is near you but we have one you can ring for advice. Good luck
