Afternoon Depression
Its hard isn't it? My depression is constantly there, but my anxiety is worse in the morning..really trying not to use food as a crutch any longer, for fear of developing other diet related illnesses (which can be many), trying to change my mindset about food, but again its really difficult and its a continual commitment..in my opinion diabetes is high maintenance, wishing you all the best, watch the carbs....there's a misconception that it's all about sugar, its not..
mallfalcon I'm sorry that you are going thru depression. I have gone thru 3 deep depressions myself. it is not fun at all. Have you talked to a friend, family member or professional about it? It does help. Also, what do you do to help get thru your day? Do you know what happened to bring on the depression? these are all sorts of things that are important for a person to find out to be able to overcome such emotion. I'm here if you wish to talk more... Maybe I can tell you what worked for me, it could work for you too. Hugs.
Hi my friend, I have discovered personally that there are foods that can help with stress and depression. Try eating strawberries, bananas or pears for stress, carrots, apples, spinach or beets for depression. try to stay away from sugar drinks like soda and flavored drinks. try to drink as much water as you can. It does the body good much more than people think. If you can, limit your sweets, breads and red meat. You do not want to eat 2 hours before bed and definitely not chocolate.. Let me know how it goes. If you find out that other foods help please tell me so I can try it.
Thanks for the information. I haven't thought about foods that much so i will have to try. i started keeping a daily time log for a few days at 15 min intervals and that helped me upswing quickly on the depression this last bout.
