Good afternoon . how are you guys ? I am doing alright just feel shaky because in social studies class there was a graphic image but i am fine 😊

I'm so glad you're ok, not nice seeing a graphic image though. Unfortunately I have nausea with my IBS, had it for a couple of days now and fed up with it. Not good when you have Emetophobia ☹ xx

So sorry that was put out to see. Disturbing, but you seemed to handle it well. When this happens to me I try to have a picture of something to take the place of the ugliness to calm down my senses.

Some wonderful images have come to me in dreams that were soothing. I focus on them or the ocean as that always calms my thoughts. Today I enjoy the beauty of lit trees.

In my country we speak of this window of tolerance to help to ward off fears that can cause fight, flight and freeze in the nervous system when we think we are in danger. Those images help calm my anxiety when ugliness causes me fear. I commit them to my memory for future use.

The digestion nerve in fear can cause a disruption to the stomach. It can work the opposite way and shut down when we are in danger. Images can cause the body to react when not prepared. I try to assure I have one prepared in advance for situations like you just faced. Some people use a smell or a sound, whatever works.

You said. you have a song stuck in your head, so that might work if is it a great song. I like Prelude to the Afternoon of a Fawn but there are so many to calm the soul. Any song that brings peace to the nervous system and the mind..
