I’ve read four physiologist reports on victim mentality and they each advise the same solution: Unless the victim is willing to accept and listen to help their isn’t much can be done. It’s very similar to addiction. Until they admit they have a problem they will never be receptive to help. Has anyone had success in helping a family member who thrives from the sympathy and attention of being a victim? Thank you

Oh yes my mother was like that but she was a covert narcissist. I get a bit frustated with those who come in here repeating the same things over and over again and have clearly never listened to any replies, or think they are different to everyone else.
Still I guess some use the site just to vent which is ok. x
