Every time I am depressed I either eat excessively or don’t eat for a long period of time. I don’t do it on purpose it just happens. I recently tried to do diet shakes and different supplements to loose weight to see if maybe my weight was also a reason that I was becoming depressed. I never see any results and it gets me feeling down because I have gained about 40pounds since I was diagnosed with depression. Should I continue different things or just stop for a while.

Dieting
Some people lose weight faster than others, you can go to YouTube and look at ways to eat healthier and go for walks, it's not easy but will show results if you keep at it
Gaining weight and emotional eating is a vicious cycle, you eat because you're upset then you're upset because you eat, it's never ending. I'm dealing with this too. Depression makes it so hard to control anything. Do try to keep in mind that eating temporarily feels good, afterwards... not that much. Not to mention eating is something that can be controlled. Once you realize that you are in control, hopefully you can break the habit. I'm trying to find self control too, overeating doesn't feel all that good in the end, it just makes everything worse. I do hope you feel better soon. Try and find good healthy or even fun habits to replace binging, like find a new series to watch or do something you really like.
