Yes! Phantom of the Opera and Cats are my favorite stage musicals, but I love movie musicals, too.

I'm embarrassed to say that I've never seen/heard The Nutcracker in its entirety, but I'm familiar with the well-known pieces of music from it (Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, the March, etc.) -- gorgeous music!

Phantom of the Opera is the best! I’ve seen it 4 times! One of my new favorites is Moulin Rouge, I got to see it in Boston before it went to Broadway. Sooo good!!

I can't recall if I've seen Phantom of the Opera two or three times, but I did get to see it once in London at Her Majesty's Theatre in 2004, during a week-long stay in the capital. Such a great show!

I've never seen Moulin Rouge! -- wasn't there a movie, too?

I loved "Rocky Horror" and "Sweeny Todd"--both, the Angela Landsbury version, and the Johnny Depp movie version (although, I cringed when he offed Alan Rickman's character). I missed an opportunity to see "Miss Saigon" in NY years ago, while I was working next door in NJ, but I did see it on PBS, sometime later. "Little Shop of Horrors," no matter what version, is always a hoot! I also loved "Hairspray"--just plain fun!

Of the Hollywood vintage musicals, I loved Judy Garland singing, "I Don't Care" in "In The Good Old Summertime."

Then, "Seven Brides For Seven Brothers," just to listen to Jane Powell sing, "When You're In Love."

I also loved Shirley Jones singing "Out of My Dreams" in "Oklahoma."

But, the one I made my boyfriend sit through was the '51 version of "Showboat." He sighed and rolled his eyes, but by the time we got to the end of the movie, he was very moved..."Why didn't you tell me it was so sad?"

Yeah, sometimes, there is a reason musicals also make great stories! ;>)

Someday, I would love to see "Hamilton" live--what a thrill!

I mistakenly read your subject line as "Do guys like musicals?" as opposed to "Do YOU guys like musicals?" as my answer was going to be, "Well, yes, SOME guys like musicals (like my husband)"

I like some, but I know Sweeney Todd is at the top of his list, too. And other Sondheim creations like "Follies" (which doesn't get done very often because it requires a big cast of extremely talented singers) and "Company," Then maybe "Gypsy" (besides the stage versions, Bette Midler did a nice TV one in the 90's).

I also like "Little Shop of Horrors."

Love musicals! Was lucky enough to see Hamilton in NYC. It was amazing! Another great, but sad one, is Next to Normal. I also really like Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor dreamcoat!
