When you read that The Golden Girls star Rue McClanahan possibly died of a stroke related to anxiety doesn’t make living with this mental illness any better. Why do I even go online these days? Just makes my obsessive thoughts worse!

Rue McClanahan Suffered From Anxiety/Panic Attacks
She was really old. Probably was not from anxiety. It's almost impossible to die of anxiety at all.
Worrywort, it is best to avoid reading anything that may feed into your obsessive thoughts unless you are able to read it and immediately discard what you read. Not
allowing it to ruminate for days and making you worry even more.
I just read that article. I read it as a way for the news media to capture our interest.
Actually what it did say was that Rue had several medical issues prior to her stroke.
Anxiety was mentioned but that is not a medical issue but a psychological one.
She had suffered a minor stroke right after having had open heart surgery. Her passing
was due to yet another stroke having nothing to do with anxiety.
We all eventually die from something and as Jeff1943 has stated in his many posts, the
obituary never reads...."Died from Anxiety" Using Meditation or other methods of
stress relief will help you live your life to the fullness and not just exist in fear. xx
Anxiety causes stress, and stress can have a negative affect on the body. Especially if you have other health issues (heart issue like I do, etc). You’re best to not read things online. They can be extremely exaggerated. Try not to stress.
Anxiety cannot give you a stroke. There is no biological process for that to happen. We have strokes because the blood vessels in our brain have become blocked/narrowed by cholesterol plaque and a haemorrhage occurs. This is due to a diet with too much saturated fat and not enough antioxidants contained in fresh fruit and vegetables.
She had breast cancer, a triple bypass, a brain hemmorage and then a stroke after surgery which is a risk especially with heart disease. It wasn't anxiety.
She was also a smoker, I learned.
