This is actually so important. I have always tried to just make myself be "normal" and do things that most people can just do easily. For example, my messy apartment always gave me anxiety but thinking of it as "cleaning the apartment" was such a big thing. I had to make a list of everything I needed to do to make it clean and take it step by step. Finally recognizing that I'm not "normal" and I need to approach things differently made such a huge difference being able to handle them.
Thank you for sharing this. I’ve been doing the same thing. It might write, “wipe down the sink” instead of “clean the bathroom”. I do feel more accomplished. We do life differently. Does that make us the heroes?
