Electric Shock feeling

Electric shock feeling or sensation

You feel like your body (or any part of) has just been jolted or electrified. It also may feel like a sharp and quick tremor or vibration. This can happen at any time and most often without warning. This symptom can be more noticeable when trying to relax or go to sleep.

It also may feel like a head buzz or tremor. It can also be accompanied by prickly sensations throughout the body. It may be infrequent or frequent in occurrence.

This symptom can affect one part of the body, many parts of the body, or the entire body. It can occur rarely, occasionally, or persistently.

I Found This Out On Another ANXIETY Post At A Hospital....

DIDN'T KNOW ANXIETY COULD DO THIS ? I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS SOMETHING ELSE.....

Yes anxiety can cause this to happen. I get it a lot. It’s due to the nervous system being hyper stimulated. I’m sorry you’re dealing with it too.

This might be different, but very occasionally I get “brain zaps” when I’m trying to fall asleep. It feels like a sudden surge of electricity zapping you. It was mainly in my head.

Are you on medication?? This could be the result of a sudden increase or decrease or absence of your medication - that was my instant thought when reading this message.

I know that I 100% get these if I don't take my meds within just an hour of when I usually do.

Not to be a bore (because I still make the mistake of not checking I have another pack sometimes) - please be careful and take meds properly!! It could be unrelated to them, but could also be a reaction.

If it continues then I'd recommend seeing a doctor.

:) xx

I had this when I was on Citalopram, I’m on a different medication now so it’s not as frequent, it’s known as brain zaps a horrible side of anxiety :(
