Is anyone else taking Effexor for generalized anxiety and depression? I take 150+75 mg a day. If I skip a dose I could easily jump off a bridge. That’s how much I need or am dependent on the medicine. I’ve tried going off on my own but it’s bad when I do. Instead of feeling lonely and sad I feel so utterly hopeless.
I’ve been on Effexor for years now. Thanks for any input

I’ve been on Effexor before and just literally swallowed my first dose in over ten years... I can’t take the anxiety and emotions that have taken control of my life. I see your post as a sign that I’m making the right decision so thank you and know your not alone... I’m standing here right beside you❤️❤️❤️
Is your doctor taking you off of it? Or is this something you have chosen to do? Your doctor should be able to help you switch to a different medication or titrate slowly enough so you don't have the extreme side effects.
Are you trying to go off? Does your doctor agree? I was on Effexor same dose for ten years, I’m now one year off it. You definitely can’t go cold turkey it took me 6 months to stop taking any dose. But if it’s working for you then there’s no need to take you off. It stopped working for me but it’s different for everyone. If that’s something you want to do just make sure you have support in place, I won’t lie, it’s not easy.
