I'm lightheaded talking to people?

Hi, all, I'm new here. But I have a question- does anyone else with generalized anxiety disorder get lightheaded when talking to people they're uncomfortable around or new people in general?

Learningtobreathe, that's always been a problem for me and I'm not shy.

What happens is our mind is going a mile a minute that the words can't come

out fast enough. I don't like lulls in the conversation as well. As I'm talking, I am

holding my breath and before long I get lightheaded. More so on the phone.

I've learned that listening more and talking less helps prevent that lightheadedness.

While the other person is talking focus on your breathe and not what you will say next.

This is all very common for the anxious person to experience. Does this all ring a bell with you?? :) xx

YES! This is so refreshing to hear because none of my friends have anxiety and never know what I'm talking about! I'm not even a shy person but sometimes I think I talk so much that I don't realize that I'm not breathing until I hyperventilate sometimes!

Thank you!

Yes I hate social anxiety so much. That’s why I usually try to stay away from strangers or big crowds. Even eye contact triggers it. It’ll send me into a panic attack! But believe me it gets better. It might not go away completely, but you learn to deal with it.
