This song reminds me of my granddaughter. Next month it will be her 1 year anniversary and it’s still feels like a dream.

Great song! “You are my everything” 🙏🏼

Hi! Welcome back!

I’ve been listening to Jason Mraz ft Meghan Trainor - More Than Friends a lot lately.

It’s a cute little soothing song.

You’re welcome, friend! How are you? I haven’t seen you for awhile! Are things better for you?

in reply to

Hi Kayla all is well with me. How are you?

You can have Manhattan

I know it's what you want

The bustle and the buildings

The weather in the fall

And I'll bow out of place

To save you some space

For somebody new

You can have Manhattan

'Cause I can't have you

But instead of Manhattan, it’s San Francisco!

Gorgeously sad song, Emily1664.

There are lots of songs I have on heavy rotation, but the ones that I play the most are the ones that seem to document my failing marriage. Wistful and sad, a reminder of our turbulent courtship, I return to "You're My Waterloo" by The Libertines, again and again:

Great song. I hope your marriage can be recovered and a new stronger foundation can be put in place for the adventures ahead.

Oh I love the libertines and their old song Last of the English Roses.

Yes! That is a Pete Doherty solo tune, right? I love some of his Babyshambles work, too, especially "Albion."

Oops you’re right that’s babyshambles or Pete himself !! Has Pete cleaned up? I kinda like wild artists who just go for it even though not all will get it. Something to be said for crazy genius and bold artistry.

Yeah, "Last of the English Roses" was from his solo outing, Grace/Wastelands. I don't know if he's completely off the junk, but he was clean enough to reunite with his fellow Libertines to record Anthems for Doomed Youth, which, hopefully, won't be their last album together.

Anthems for Doomed Youth, that’s so good. Love the title. I’m dying to go to England. You are making my mouth water for my homeland!! I’ve been to several countries, but not the UK. Rome is my favorite city in the world. Beats Paris. Paris is great but cold, expensive, intense. But I’m just craving England now Mr. Monk. The green hills, the history, the poetry!

I would like to see Italy, as my mother's family is from there. I've been to a handful of countries, and lived abroad in South Korea for several years. But England was my first love, geographically speaking. I spent a month alone there in the '90s, my first time travelling anywhere, let alone outside of the United States. I went to find the England depicted in so many poems of my favorite poet (and HealthUnlocked avatar), Sir John Betjeman. It was the happiest time of my life.

I returned to the UK twice since then, both times with the woman who is now my wife. During our first week-long outing, we spent half of the time visiting literary landmarks and old bookstores, and the other half holed up in a London B&B, emotionally falling apart at the seams. Of course, I asked her to marry me the day before our flight home. We were on a footbridge in Regent's Park. There was a slight drizzle.

That’s so beautiful and heart-aching too. Ah haaa I was wondering who the avatar could be. I pictured you in England, in a gorgeous library room full of wonderful books, perhaps with a cigar in hand. You know what Einstein said about imagination, that it is “more important than knowledge.” Did you travel elsewhere in Asia? Japan, Thailand? I must see Kyoto. I once had a Korean friend and she and her family were devastatingly beautiful and had this sublime grace. What did you find interesting about South Korea?

I was in Tokyo briefly for a medical test, but I didn't get the opportunity for a proper tour of Japan before leaving ROK to return to the States.

Living in South Korea was such a cool experience. There's this small city in the Jeolla Province called Namwon. It is nicknamed the "City of Love" because it is home to a famous Korean love story called the Chunhyangjeon. There are associated festivals, a theme park that tells the story of Chunhyang and her beloved, as well as a bridge that's romantically illuminated at night. Such happy memories.

But my heart will ever be in England. How I would love to be there now surrounded by a library of poetry books (sans cigar...not my thing...besides, I loathe a smoky tome).

Thank you very much. 🙂

Ohhhh I used to lovvvve that song (sweet disposition) and listened to it every day like a prayer. Then they sold it to Coke and I got a bit bummed. Lately I’m loving the new Santigold album, especially songs Run the Road and Gold Fire.
