Hi nice to meet you. When you work you have a built in structure in place which you obviously don't have when you retire, so you have to make your own. Think about nice things you want to do which you never had time for before ie see more of your family, join a class, do voluntary work. The great thing about retirement is that you can do what you like and haven't got to think about working for a living.
I don't know which country you live in and I am in the UK and if you are there how about a national group? I know 2. One is Meet Up and the other is U3A - if interested google them. There are also groups for over 50's over 60's etc. I belong to one of these and spend my Wednesday afternoons playing cards and laughing for England.
I am also a volunteer in a charity shop which makes me feel useful again and I just love the company and the work. x
Hi hypercat I'm in uk 🇬🇧 to I do go to Zumba twice a week but it's only for one hour in the morning & then I feel stuck what to do next i had a full on job working shifts as you say structure am not happy staying at home as on my days off I cleaned up & then out have now started doing voluntary work in two different shops a couple of afternoons but with my anxiety depression finding it difficult to get my head around going in but have pushed on & doing it Meds I am on make me spaced out or is it the anxiety 😫? Am unsure 😖I thanks for the websites will have a look your fur baby looks just like one of mine 😘
I'm 65 and have been retired for 8 yrs. I am bored a lot of the time but I try to find something to do like go to the gym and work out a little. I read a lot too so that helps some. Got a part-time job for a while but didn't like having to go to work. Thinking about trying to find some volunteer work maybe.
