Hi Jen, Go gently into the night when using POTENT mild altering mood stabilizers. I just came off Prozac and did not like it at all. I had to realize it was the drugs and not me. Why did the Dr. choose Abilify over others? Have you been on SIRI's previously?

in reply to RiderontheStorm

Haven’t been on it yet. Psych doctor suggested it. Been on all the drugs Prozac lexapro Zoloft etc.

Maybe this one will work for you. I hope so. I've tried the others too with little help. I am also scared of what those kind of drugs do to our neural pathways long term.

Hi there, just looked at my doc’s med notes and when I was on abilify it caused me nausea, insomnia, and restlessness so I asked to be taken off of it. My body seems to react extra to side effects of things more than normal, so it could be just fine for you. Good luck w it!

I get very nauseous and sick going on meds or coming off. My fear is causing a manic episode or I get more depressed or makes me impulsive or more anxiety. I have awful medical anxieties. I have gone from thinking I have a blood clot to going to die suddenly to thinking I have serotonin syndrome in past week. I just want to have some peace.

Hi Jen. Two of my kids are taking abilify and we have no complaints. My daughter has been taking it for over a year.

I have been on Abilify for just over a month. It helped with depressing thoughts. It affected my sleep even when taking it in the morning but it is worth it to me. I am on 5 mg of the generic.

I think it’s a great drug! I took it for about 5 or so years and it seemed to take the edge off everything and smooth it all out. My only issue with it was a little daytime sleepiness. I quit taking it because I couldn’t afford it without insurance and the generic wasn’t out yet. Of course, everyone reacts differently. Good luck!
