Well, July is here...and it brought the heat! (At least, what passes for heat here in New England lol)

Howdy one and all! Brian here! First off, I want to apologize for sparking off that imbroglio (I love that word lol) over the weekend. Yes, it has me frightened, terrified and frustrated. I know there are also other forums where I could've started the conversation. Oh well, live and learn, right? lol

I saw the radiation oncologist today. Looks like I might've hit a bit of a snag. The table for the radiation treatment at the facility I am going to may not support my weight (I weigh 420 lbs. and the table's max weight allowed is 450). They're talking to the manufacturers of the apparatus to see if I should be ok on the table. If not, then I have to go further afield to have the treatments done. Worst case scenario is that I would have to go to Boston. That's a 3 hour car ride down (6 hours round trip) for basically a 30 minute treatment session. I would have to do that 5 times a week, for 5 weeks. I'm like....CRAP! lol I don't want to go to Boston at the best of times lol. But, hopefully the table here is sturdy enough to hold me and I won't have to make that agonizingly long trip. Next Wednesday (July 11) I have to back to the radiation oncologist to get another CT scan done of the tumor site so the oncologist can map out a unique radiation treatment for me. I'm looking at July 23 at the latest for starting the radiation treatment. For some reason, they keep moving the start time back lol. But I understand though. They want to dot all their I's and cross the T's.

Anyhow....how has everyone's week started? I'm trying to stay positive and I've been shying away from the news. Not entirely, but it's just stressing me out and making me more and more angry and frustrated. But something did strike me. Specifically, a quote from a member of my gaming community:

"Never argue with an idiot. They'll only drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."

When I listen to media commentators who are blatantly incendiary, reactionary and/or trying to act as fearmongers, hatemongers and warmongers, that quote comes to mind. Arguing with people who act that way is pointless. We need to stay calm and be kind and steer clear of those who only want to yell and the like. If we keep our heads, stay cool and be pleasant, then those people just come off as immature 4th graders with 3rd graders' personalities. lol

Stay cool out there! This summer's gonna be a scorcher! :)

Your friend,

Brian :)

You remain steadfast in your fabulousness Brian. I salute you. Sure hope you don’t have to make that long commute to Boston, if so you may as well stay overnight. You’re under the max weight so I hope you can use that local machine. And as for the lively convo you inspired, hey, it just means we’re all paying attention. These are crazy times. Everyone has a view and it’s ok to banter within reason. No problem there. Sending you so much respect and applause for showing us grace under pressure.

Thanks Lisa! :) Fingers crossed! lol

I wasn’t aware of the post you are referencing. I must have missed it. If they keep moving the date back maybe it isn’t as serious as they thought it was? I don’t watch cable news or subscribe to any political philosophy. I only read and follow the Good News of Jesus Christ. its the only way to stay sane.

And it is so hot in the northeast! I don’t know how people live with the humidity in the southern USA.

Glad you apologized. I feel very strongly that this is not a political site or a religious site. Un-fortunately anxiety attacks people of all political persuasions. With major medical issues there are always snags - at least that is what I have found (twice). They do get straightened out though, but not without causing upset. I do hope you don't have to go to boston. xx

NOw I have to look up your post!

It's nothing Meow lol I was just depressed and upset and I vented in the wrong forum, even though it was depressing me. Time to focus on more positive things :)

Hi Brian! I sure am wishing for you that you don't have to travel that far! I get them moving the date around, frustrating at the least! My hubby was diagnosed with prostate cancer 8 years ago & it took forever til the surgery. You're in my prayers! Love & Hugs!!! XXX
