Wheelchair Bound

Hey all, so I haven’t been able to figure out the pain in my buttocks still. I am wondering what the ones who have been wheelchair users for a while or less mobile where you have to sit more, do to avoid getting pressure wounds. I have no definitive answer on whether this is pressure. I haven’t had a wound for a year but I have immense pain from it.

It sounds like it’s coming off a bulging disc. I can relate to this. Instead of going down the leg it plants itself in your butt. I just try not to set mine off. It’s knowing when to stop walking for instance. That’s my guess anyway but you might be different.

I have a lot of pain sitting and am dreading becoming a wheelchair user. I have had sacroiliac pain for years but I now also have pain in my piriformis which is located in buttocks.

Cherie, interesting. I have been told that I am losing muscle mass in my buttocks so it sounds like that could possibly cause this pain if it is suppressing the sciatic nerve. I am going to look into this more. Thank you for your response!
