Well, here we go.

We may be able to add to this as and when.

"In conclusion, acupuncture could be effective in decreasing spasticity after stroke, but long-term studies are needed to determine the longevity of treatment effects."

I can say without a doubt it does help. I have been seeing my acupuncture doctor for almost a year. Not only do the needles help improve the legs jumps it is quite relaxing and resetting. The herbs he sets me up are also very helpful. At this point I say let's start throwing darts to find what works best!

Nice.

I'm sure it's all down to which practitioner you see.

Which country are you in?

Does the acupuncture ease your spasticity? If so, in what way?

How long does it take? 1 hour?

What's the name of the herbs? What do they do?

I'll give the acupuncture a go. Couldn't hurt.

I'm in he US/ It provides a calming relief in a way by activating the overactive nerve channels and putting them back on track if you will . The herbs he gives me are for overall energy and kidney cleanse. I also take a night time blend for real sleep . The sessions are every week for an hour and I do find that the are helpful in recharging and resetting my body and mind . The herbs are all Chinese herbs that he combines in a blend each week depending on how I'm doing and what I am having issue with. Not to sure all of them but I can get back to you with that. It is Dr Yu's belief the kidneys play a major role in all that the human body does and is. So it makes a lot of sense for us , seeing as our adrenals play such a major role in our condition . Hope this helps and good luck!

Unfortunately for me acupuncture was unsuccessful in helping with either muscle tightness or spasticity with two practitioners, the second told me that he didn't think he could do anything for me. I have a feeling it is like any other treatment, whether it be medications or physical care, we all react differently. I am very glad to hear it has been helpful for others!!
