I have prominent veins in my feet, like varicose veins (though my legs are OK) and my feet are prone to swelling, particularly later in the day. I have neuropathy but am still able to walk quite well, though my ankles are rather stiff. Does anyone have similar symptoms?

Feet symptoms
Probably are varicose veins.
Getting mine stripped made a huge difference to my spasticity and neuropathy.
Lately as my spasticity has been getting worse my veins have been getting more prominent.
Circulation disorder. Hand in glove with my AMN.
I have prominent veins all over my body, as does my mother. Way too prominent. Everyone comments.
Plan to get my legs stripped again. Nothing heals like cold hard steel.
I don't have the veins but my feet swell in the evenings and I have stiff ankles particularly on my right foot. My ankle can swell by about another 1-2 cm in hot humid weather. I also have a fallen arch and my foot is rolling inwards. So none of this helps with balance issues. Although I have been wearing orthotics for the past 5 years I am in the process of being reviewed.
Interesting to hear some similarities. Do you have your orthotics review through the NHS or privately from a chiropodist? I have some balance issues and am prone to tripping, plus I walk noisily as I put my feet down too flat.
At the moment it is through the NHS but if I am not happy I have been recommended a private company. I have used FES for 8 years to help with tripping. I wish I had done more about my stiff ankles before they got so bad. Where do you live? I live in Dorset.
We moved from near Ascot last year but my mum still lives in Ashford. If you are anywhere nearby we could meet up sometime. The place I have been recommended is a chiropodist/podiatrist but they also have gait analysis and biomechanic assessment.
It is worth seeing what they can do for you.
Let me know if you decide to see them.
Get a sono of the veins. Put your feet up when possible. They have to get higher than you heart to drain.
Your calf muscles are what pump the fluid back up. If walking does not use your ankles than the fluid is trapped.
I take a light diuretic but with incontinence, I have to plan the mornings accordingly. I also had success with some stripping off the worse veins.
I have had great relief with exercise pedals with a motor like these.
