100 Hz and a pulse width of 200 μs, according to the trials I read up on. That's for spasticity. Pain, I couldn't tell you.
The pulse width is important, more so for EMS.
I spent years playing around with TENS. So much so, I can't use it anymore. I've permanently sensitised my skin. Get electrical burns something chronic. Use plenty of gel, don't scrimp on the gel. Forget the self adhesive pads.
I don't think there is a magic frequency, I tried them all. I did like a modulated TENS, ramping up and down through the frequencies.
TENS is good. The company that had the patent made billions from it. I keep meaning to try Galvanic Stimulation. I'll likely try cold laser treatment first.
