Unusual for me...

Hi....yesterday I had my annual MRI. Normally, I manage to sleep throughout the experience. Yesterday, when the pump shut off, my legs started to spasm, jump and cramp. My left foot was burning and my right foot was unbelievably painful and kicking every 12 seconds. I felt so unwell, I wanted to stop the process....I really did not feel I could take any more. I was assured that they had only one more run to go, and despite my body jumping all over the place, the pictures of my head were still perfect....the head was still. I could not walk at the end ....and was dragged/ carried to the small waiting room. I managed a whispered and shaky " I don't feel well" to my wife, as she fed me a cortate tablet...Sitting there in my hospital gown, I waited for the pump to start, and " my" normality to return. The pump eventually kicked in and the Medtronic dude checked it out....all ok ! Dressed, warm and cosy, tucked up in the car I looked at my wife ...now white faced, shaky and with a massive headache as she prepared for the three and a half hours drive for home. Today, I feel exhausted...my legs are stiff and sore....I cannot remember these feelings for years. Do other people feel like this during MRIs and if so, any suggestions as to why this happened and how I can avoid a reoccurrence for next time ?

By pump, do you mean a Baclofen pump? The MRI could have easily effected that.

Also, did you take any relaxant medication. Was it anything new? I am claustrophobic so I have to take Valium.

Had you eaten anything? Were you hungry?

Not what you're looking for?
