Update: I had 90-minute biopsy surgery on Dec. 4.
Apixaban was paused for 36 hours and I was bridged with a low-dose "baby aspirin" as a stroke preventative measure. Restarted apixaban morning after the surgery.
All went well and remains well four days later. My fears about stroke were natural but unfounded.
Aside from some substantial wounds, which will heal, I am recovering with rest and light pain meds and antibiotics .
Strange phenomenon post- surgery — flutters/palpitations are totally gone. My GP says that I was probably just nervous for the three weeks preceding surgery. It is certainly an odd coincidence. I’ll take the “win” either way.
Thank you, all my fellow travelers for your support and assurances.
