Update: I had 90-minute biopsy surgery on Dec. 4.
Apixaban was paused for 36 hours and I was bridged with a low-dose "baby aspirin" as a stroke preventative measure. Restarted apixaban morning after the surgery. All remains well. My fears about stroke were natural but unfounded.
Aside from some substantial wounds, which will heal, I am recovering well with a bit of rest and light pain meds .
Strange phenomenon post- surgery — flutters/palpitations are totally gone. My GP says that I was probably just nervous for the three weeks preceding surgery. Perhaps, but it is certainly an odd coincidence. I’ll take the “win” either way.
Thank you, all my fellow travellers, for your support and assurances.
