Had a pulse field ablation 18 months ago, which was successful in terminating my paraoxymal

afib. But now getting one day episodes every two months. Taking one tablet of flecainde 50mg on those days.

Any advise on my options going forward if there episodes continue.

Unfortunately ablation - whatever the type - sometimes offers only temporary reprieve. Your choices would be touch up ablation or medication.

Personally, I'd live with the reduced burden for now and handle it just like you're doing. On the other hand, if an episode every two months is too much for you, you could daily Flecainde or a touch up ablation. And of course, there are lifestyle changes that sometimes help.

Yep I would put up with the occasional bout of afib and the pill in pocket routine. Personally I would prefer a top up ablation before permanent medication as the side effects can be horrific from the meds. As I have heart disease anyway most of the meds especially Flecainide are contraindicated. Not going on Amioderone as it caused big problems with my brothers health.

Does the 50mg Flec terminate it - how long does it take ?

Usually about 10-12 hours.
