I’m reading about others having AFib episodes during the “blanking” period. I had my pulse field ablation almost a month ago and have not had ANY problems whatsoever. I was expecting some bits of arrhythmia but feel amazingly well.

Post pulse field ablation
Pulse field ? In the uk. Tell us more. I had a cryo ablation 3 days ago. Feel fine tbh. My resting heart rate is about 10 beats per minute higher but will settle down hopefully
Hello Jmbrph, I’m interested in the pulse field ablation. Was this done in the same way by entering the heart through vein in groin or some other method? I’m in th US and wondering where in US this can be preformed?
The procedure is done in the same way but instead of using heat or cold it uses a device that delivers short zaps of electricity instead. Unless you can still get in a clinical trial it will probably be at least a year before it’s FDA approved.
Thanks for your reply. It will be great if this is another and more promising option for afibbers. Where can one apply for trail if it’s still open for patients?
I had an ablation last year and did have a few episodes in the blanking period and ultimately ablation not deemed a success just had ablatio number 2 about 10 days ago and so far so good (hope it holds).
My father in law had wicked episodes of afib that would have him ending up in hospital nearly every time for treatment. He had a cyro ablation about 5 years ago and has not had an episode since. He still has the occasional drink and coffee and all good so far.
Wish your outcome mimics my father in law. Cheers
Things still going smoothly Jmbrph? Hopefully it continues to be a smooth recovery, and smooth sinus rhythm sailing.
Not even a tinge of arrhythmia since my pulse field ablation in August. I have a 3-month checkup the week after Thanksgiving and anxious to see the clinical trial team. I am so in honor of them!
Still having a smooth go of it? Did your trial include the expectation to have a electro mapping done? Can’t remember the exact term. I have seen studies in the states where they have highlighted that the ablations have been durable as they have gone in and remapped. Hope things are well!
Yes, all good. Having a few ectopics (PACs) but don’t go into flutter or AFib like in the past. You think there’s a way to go in and check how the heart looks afterward? Sounds invasive and expensive but wish the clinical trial included that.
