My nose bleed story!

Hi All, I promised to post a quick update so I’m doing that now.

I had four nose bleeds in five days. They just came out of nowhere but weren’t too dramatic just a drip each second.

The last one worried me before my surgery appointment was due because it lasted for 20 hours and just wouldn’t stop.

A and E and (after a wait of 6 hours but that’s not bad compared to some poor people) had my nose cauterised.

Thanks to everyone who kindly replied to my post. I hope I didn’t miss anyone personally but thank you very much, if I did. 🫠

Good news - and a chance to stop them for good. Sounds horrendous for you otherwise.

Best wishes.

Thank you!

"Listen very carefully, I shall say zis only once!"

I know that you, English, have been jabbed in a very large percentage. Jabs (for C19) are known to cause thrombocytopenia, what, in combination with anticoagulants, may lead to problems with stopping the bleed (or even to causing the bleed). In your place, I would let my blood counts be checked and would reduce anticoagulants if thrombocytopenia is diagnosed. Wishing you all the best! Peter

Thank you. I didn’t know about that. I had a full blood count done this week and so I think any problems should have shown up then? 🧐

Good, that you have so recent results. Nothing easier than to check the numbers.

I'm so pleased to hear that you managed to get your nose cauterised. Did they do it the modern way with chemicals?

Yes they did. It was silver nitrate!
