Never hear good ablation stories on here, so thought I would mention my 83 year old ma in law ( the most indomitable person I know)started getting AF for a few hours every couple of weeks. HR 160 she got chest pain and dizzy , out of breath . Had an ablation , 3 weeks later on holiday in the Balearics

Good ablation story
As we often say. successful ablatees seldom waste their time here as they are too busy off enjoying life.
Good woman!
That’s really good news. Wishing her well
I see posts about successful ablations on here every week, not least from me! 😊
I hope, however, that anyone scheduled for ablation and reading that post doesn't get the idea they'll be back to normal activities after three weeks, or that it's advisable to book a hot-weather holiday so soon after their procedure.
They don’t pop up on my feeds . I see people who are experiencing problems in recovery usually. Which is off putting if like me you haven’t experienced one . Do you have a problem with people sharing good news? I would have thought we can’t get enough of that
I think you'll find quite a lot of successful ablation stories.I'm glad to see another one. 😊
The ablations are often successful. But a lot of posters seem to have a tough time in recovery with all sorts of arrythmia problems. She had the ablation and her palpitations disappeared and she felt fine. I thought that was encouraging to those of us yet to have ablations. I won’t bother sharing another time
Thanks for your post Peony4575 ! I think it is very encouraging to hear her success, as I am contemplating ablation and get hesitant when I hear so many people having challenges. It’s good to hear the successes too.
As I said, I regularly post about my successful Ablation. Does that sound like someone with a problem sharing good news? What also gets shared on here is advice, and my point is that the majority of people would potentially do themselves a great deal of harm by ignoring the advice of the excellent guidance sheets produced by Bob and others on this forum and embarking on a holiday so soon in the blanking period. Indeed there was a debate about this exact thing recently which ultimately led to the person who asked the question cancelling their holiday.
I'm delighted your mother has a new lease of life, what a trooper! I'm sure she's at least relaxing and allowing her heart to recover while at the resort.
A good story indeed!
