I went into AF after getting sick from food poisoning/belly bug in early Feb23. I stayed in AF and had shortness of breath after being released from hospital. I was put on Diltiazem at that time. I saw my heart dr early Mar23. Then a week later I saw my heart rhythm dr. He put me on Propafenone and continue the Dilt. I had an unsuccessful cardio version late Mar23.
I had an EP Ablation on 24April23. I had follow-up with Dr 3 weeks later. I was told to stop Propafenone & Diltiazam at that visit. I had 3 separate EKG's that show in normal sinus rhythm. I continue to have shortness of breath to this day.
My question after my short missive is "HOW LONG WILL I HAVE SHORTNESS OF BREATH?"

Sorry you have been having a tough time. I hope things resolve soon for you. I am pretty sure someone will respond on the forum with similar experience. Just wanted to wish you well, dig in things will improve. Best wishes.
It could be that you are still recovering from the ablation, as it’s still quite early days. Though you will hopefully get a chance to ask at your post-op check.
Although mine wasn’t successful, my heart is in a reasonably steady state now on Bisoprolol, but I reckon it too 4-5 months to get here. I guess it stands to reason, as the scars from the ablation need to heal.
