Depending on many things and which vaccine you have you may get some simptoms. I had Pfizer and just a sore arm for a few days. My wife had AZ and felt quiet ill (flu like) for three days. If a cold usually increases your AF burden then you may find the vaccine does as well since any inflamation tends to exacerbate AF but the one stone bonkers certainty is that covid would be so much worse that you could not imagine. It really is a no brainer.

Hi leeson.

34 yr old (seems to be worse for the younger generation) had the AZ vaccine 💉 about 5/6 weeks ago now I think. Had terrible first night which felt like flu, shivers, headaches, nausea, sweating buckets. Drastically reduced after day 2/3. Still felt really tired and lingering effects of brain fog. To be honest I still don’t think I’m back to normal now but who knows what’s doing what with the meds most of us take. Will be having second jab when due.

In terms of my AF, didn’t effect it at all. Was panicking a bit as I thought it was going too and that first night I didn’t want to be dealing with an AF attack as well. But luckily didn’t effect in slightest 😃👍

Hopefully you have a smoother ride but it is what it is and like I say I won’t hesitate to have the next one. Pretty bad but nothing to be worried about in the long run really.

I’ve had both jabs no issues . The sore arm is often overstated. Goodness, the vaccine is very important . Go for it with a positive attitude. You will be fine .

After second Pfizer Jab I felt muscle aches and slight loss of balance.Aso had episodes of sweating followed by feeling cold . My heart rate was elevated up to 95 but stayed in NSR. I found itt hard to do math in my head and couldn't find items I just put down. Guess I was surprised I had any symptoms. Lasted. about 3-4 days.

As Nannysue1 said you can hardly tell that you've been injected! So the only other issue is side effects which is basically a lottery. You may get some short term symptoms for a day or two or nothing at all except a slightly sore arm. The chance of getting a serious effect is vanishingly small. The number of first doses in the UK alone is now over 31 million and the number of potential serious side effects is miniscule. I can't wait to get my second dose! I feel that we're very lucky that several safe, effective vaccines have been produced quickly but safely. So no need to be afraid. Personally I'm much more afraid of getting Covid including long Covid which is going to have long term serious implications for hundreds of thousands in the UK alone.

Depending on which vaccine you have you may get some side effects. A very small price to pay when you compare with getting Covid.

I've been in constant AF for 10 mths now and had no ill effects from the vaccine. Horrible if you have a needle phobia but the needles are so fine these days, you really dont feel it. We had ours at our local practise which has set up a drive through. Came to me at the window and then my husband who was sitting behind in the back, I didnt even realise she'd injected me until she moved on to my husband. It takes about 5 seconds, you dont need to worry.

I did feel a bit tired and achy for nearly two days after my jab, but five weeks later I contracted COVID. Fortunately my symptoms were not too bad, cough, aches, 24 hour high temp, so just over a week of feeling a bit rough and so far another two weeks of feeling tired, with the cough gradually going. Only now feel have enough energy to start going out for walks and try and get a bit fitter again. I was really worried about getting COVID due to other heart problems (expected it would kill me off), but I believe the jab reduced the effects of the virus which enabled me to ride the storm. So my advice to anyone is get your vaccination!

Sorry you caught Covid but great that you had the jab 5 weeks before which is a good amount of time to gain a high level of immunity. There's a fair chance that the jab has kept you out of hospital which is really what the vaccination programme is all about. Glad you are feeling better. Steve

i looked upon my jab as it was blooming marvellous to start taking that covid cloud that has hung over us away.....don’t dwell on what if’s. I think also we hear of negatives more than positives as the positives just breeze thru and don’t look bAck.

I wroteThank you letter to my neurologist years back and he saud how wonderful it was as he only received negative complaints.

My astra zenica gave me a sore arm...nothing else.

Be positive don’t worry,

Sue

I've only had my first AZ jab so far. And no side effects.

I had both (Pfizer) Covid shots and it didn't affect my a-fib at all. I had a few other symptoms though -- headache, achy, etc. -- but it didn't bring on an episode.

I've had the two pfizer jabs and no problems just a slightly sore arm . My wife who is younger than me had her first AZ injection and was off colour for a few days with aches and shakes - particularly bad headaches for a couple of days. Though after the first day just headache and could be controlled with use of paracetamol. Felt fatigued for about 4 days two weeks later still has a bruise on her arm and can't lay on it. Two nieces one 40 and one 41 said they felt like they had been hit by a truck for a couple of days - both had AZ vaccine. It seems everyone is different My sister had Covid back in January and didn't have a bad dose of it was hit for 6 with the vaccine - worse than the covid itself she says. Apparently studies have shown that people who have had covid are more likely to get a worse reaction and younger people get a worse reaction but I think even that varies.

Good Luck

I have had my1st AZ jab a week ago. Slight bruise-like pain in arm around the site of the jab. Ok on the day. Morning after (day 2) a rare headache (for me) and knackered, apart from that back to normal day 3.I am pleased I’ve had any vaccine and look forward to the booster.

👌

Your worries are worse to you than the jabs side effects. So try not to worry and join the millions on the right side of C19 2021 🤞
