Flu, cold, or Covid?

Hi … l have felt awful beginning yesterday. Running nose, cough, low temp (99-100) tired … head cold kind of symptoms. Could it be Covid? I don’t go anywhere but to the gym daily. I scheduled a Covid test tomorrow at 3. Am l okay? I feel terrified. Gassy tum with a few palpitations. Not particularly hungry. Any thoughts? My husband is in Europe … naturally.

Hi Janith, you can only wait until you have the test really but in the meantime stay home and look after yourself. Hoping you recover soon. Take care and best wishes to you. Xx🤗

You still have the tools from your pharmacy that you always had. Tylenol, vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc, quercetin. It helps to be proactive while you wait.

Hi Jan, I'd say it's 50% likely it's covid. Here in the UK most people have home testing kits.

A few weeks ago I had a sore throat, cough and lots of congestion and was testing twice daily for covid, but it wasn't. All my neighbours have had it, also my daughter who works at a hospital. She had no symptoms whatsoever and only checked as friends where she worked had covid. She was still obliged to stay off work and my goodness the NHS look after their staff well. She was telephoned daily and given an oximeter to test her oxygen levels.

Don't be afraid, what you have now could be covid, but most report on it being mild.

Let us know the results of your test please. Will be thinking of you.

Jean

Hooray! That's good news to hear, but still having the other symptoms is a nuisance and draining. Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry to hear you aren’t well. Testing is the only indicator and even then not definitive, depending upon the test. As Sassy said, stay home, treat as for flu/cold - fluids/paracetamol and rest. Worrying about it won’t change anything.

Hope you feel better very soon. Best wishes

I had exactly the same symptoms nearly three weeks ago. Tested and was positive for covid. Had been vaccinated three times and the first time that I attended an event without as mask, a wedding, lo and behold I contracted covid. My first symptoms was a rapid heartbeat of 100 bpm unusual for me, chest felt tight, followed by extreme exhaustion and cough, rest of the symptoms followed on quickly behind.

If it is positive for Covid, make sure you get a prescription for Paxlovid to kill the virus and possibly help prevent longterm complications and definitely a severe case. It needs to be taken within 5 days of onset of symptoms. Best, ethereal
