In the end it was a flutter ablation .Half way thru they called proff Gill my ep and asked about doing the a fib as well.He said on this occasion just do the flutter. Was down 5 hours.Had GA hubby picked me up at 5.30 and I slow plodded to our hotel about 5 min walk but I did it slowly in 10.Had a nice meal and a G&T.Was a bit naughty but back on the water today.Feeling a few funny beats but told to stop verapimil totally.Any probs call gp ha ha or cardiac nurses.I know arrhythmia will probably continue for weeks.Thankyou for all good wishes and for any teetering.I would have number 2 if and when needed no problem. That fairy juice they give you is great lol.

Good news you are through and would do it again, wishing you a good recovery

Wishing you well for the future. Glad to hear Prof. Gill is still working his magic at Guy's and St.Thomas'. He did both mine, 10 years apart, last one December 2018 and I'm still doing well (with a few blips on the way).

I guess they ablated more than they would for PVI for AF?

Not sure.I was always expecting an a fib ablation which I thought took longer but I have a friend that was asleep for 2 1/2hours so mine was lengthy.Of course I don't know if they were doing it for 5 hours but it was definitely 5 hours I was gone from my bed.

St Thomas’ (Mark O’Neill) did mine in 2013. Still ok - a few blips here and there but great result for me. Good luck ☘️

Hi! Mine is going to happen soon and have been told it’s going to probably be done under a local? You must’ve had a GA? So glad that it went well!

I don't think I could cope with a local but then I wasn't offered a choice.
