Just to let you know how my call went with the EP who conducted my ablation. Well I finally got the call after 9 mths, he was very apologetic. He says it is still quite early days and the few tachy, ectopic episodes I have been having since beta blocker cessation, are nothing off concern. He also says since I have a chad score of 0 ( My age, no diabetes or heart disease) I can come off apixiban as well. Also says if AF was to rear its head I can have a follow up procedure to tidy things up. So all in all a good positive phone app, now is the time for me to keep healing and get on with my life. I am not an expert in giving advice like some on here, but I will stick around to share my experiences, if that’s ok with you lovely people. Just to end saying an ablation has certainly improved my life as I was very symptomatic, and if you are in the same boat, don’t hesitate if offered an ablation. Good luck everyone !

Ablation follow up call
Hi I have my 4 month telephone post ablation call today so keeping the phone close. I have had a few minor incidents so your posting is encouraging. I think I will have to stay on apixaban but hoping to stop the last small dose of bisoprolol. Stay well, Lin
Good luck I hope it is a fruitful call 👍
He wants me to stay on 1.25mg bisoprolol as I have had a few minor AF episodes and my heart rate is quite high, review 4 months. A bit fed up as I hate the bisoprolol but can cope with that dose.
Thank you for sharing on the Forum 💚
I love a happy story. Well done.
Hi, thank you . I am waiting for my post ablation call now.
Glad to hear things are progressing well for you. I have an ablation scheduled for January 11 and am very nervous about it. I tried medication first but it doesn't seem to work well enough for me so decided to try ablation route since so many have had success with that.
If your symptoms are very bothersome I think you will be pleased with the outcome of an ablation. The procedure is manageable and the recovery a little tough at times, but worth it not to have those AF attacks. I say go for it 👍
That is good to here and your follow ups are welcome ! I as in afib off and on for 7 years than permanent afib for 3 years ago the Doctors I had been going to kept saying an ablation would probably not work for me and I should maintain on drugs , Well all my research contradicted them . University of Michigan did a super job and I have been in Sinus rhythm now 4 4 months and more and more active , confident of the future ( got a new puppy in fact ) , Life is good regardless of this government ,
Thank you stoneyrosed I appreciate that. Many who have had a successful ablation leave the forum, or at least never seem to post again. I look forward to hearing from you in the future.
Glad to hear it stoney! Onwards and upwards from here 💪 hope my taper off drugs is as successful as yours! Keep us informed and I hope your recovery continues to improve 👍
I wouldn’t say it was successful, I have only been off the blockers a week. My pulse fluctuates between 65- 90 and had a tachycardia rate of 107 yesterday but no afib. Hoping it will settle.
Oh right sorry for some reason I interpreted your message as you having been off meds for a while now.
Sounds like we are currently floating in the same boat then 😂 was it bisop you’ve come off? 2.5? I know we’ve spoke about this before but I can’t remember the fine details now 🤔
I’m tapering myself and currently almost 2 days without any meds at all. I thought I’d stopped entirely on Tuesday evening but had to give myself a top up of 1/4 tab on Friday as I was getting some tachy like you mentioned (97 bpm). I’ve also got a bug so it’s making it slightly more difficult.
I’m getting the occasional ectopics but very occasional, does send you into a bit of a panic for a few seconds when it happens as I start thinking I’m going into af 😬. My heart rate is also fluctuating quite a bit min 73 up to 97 since I’ve come off.
I’ve got it in my head now that I’m going to take 1/4 dose every 2 days and then stretch it out but if I have a day where I feel fine and hearts playing ball then I won’t take anything still and stretch it out this way. It’s almost like a pip strategy but taking tab before I feel like af is coming on or my heart just doesn’t feel too comfortable . I feel like this I will be able to keep my heart rate fairly steady and hopefully over a few weeks ease myself into being completely med free 😄👍 that’s the plan anyway!
Hi, I came of the flecanaide about 2 month ago, and then moved on to tapering off the beta blockers which I finally stopped altogether about a week ago. Like you my pulse fluctuates between 65-90 and had one at107. Not going to take a pip yet because I think that will confuse the heart, I want it to get used to no meds and hope it will settle down. The main thing so far is no AF.
