cryoablation

I recently posted about sore joints. I did some digging on the Eliquis I'm tacking. Ever since I started taking it my joints are getting sore. I think this is my problem. The side effects of strong blood thinners can have this effect. My Dr doesn't want me to stop because I still have heart flips after I eat. It can also make existing reflux worse, which I have also. Has anyone had this problem?

I hate taking meds and try to do without wherever and whenever possible but anti-coagulant is the one med I’m really happy to take. I’ve been on Apixaban for about 7 years now consistently and it was the best anti-coagulant for reflux (Dabigatran was dreadful). I have joint pain, sometimes, but not associated aching joints as a side affect of taking Apixaban - aches and pains due ageing and rheumatic wear and tear - yes.

Even if aching joints were a side affect, unless they were disabling, I’ll put up with a few pains to reduce my risk of stroke as my CHADS score is now 4.

Just my experience. Have you tried other A/Cs?

I’ve developed a bad back making walking difficult and so bending over to make it easier. However I think it’s getting older (78) and lockdown has changed our lives. The only thing I’ve found being on all the afib medication is hair loss including my eyebrows and eyelashesAll the best

I've found that diet is the most important thing to eliminate joint pain. For me cheese is the worst food for joint pain. (I gave it up over 40 years ago) Never give up on the Eliquis as a stroke will be far worse than any joint pain. It's not a blood thinner by the way, but an anti-coagulant. There is a blood thinner but it's only prescribed for a very rare illness.

All the best.
