Well the 18th of this month will be 2 months after procedure. Not doing good these days. From my other posts you could see the problems I have been having. I don't seem to be making any progress in feeling better. I addressed my stomach issue with protonix but feel bad in other ways from it. Today I'm weak shakey and my heart flutters all over the place every day. If I sit (which is almost all day every day) I'm not too bad but to exert in anything my heart goes flipping. Please has anyone gone through this ? This is taking a toll on me mentally.

Hi mlp.
Sorry to hear your having such a rough time or it. I feel your pain though trust me. Went through the ringer myself and still not right now. Haven’t been to work since my ablation in august. Feels like forever now.
I’m finally coming off meds now but my stamina is abysmal. I’m hoping it’s too do with the weaning off meds 🤞 hasn’t been great since ablation though.
It’s hard but as cliché as it sounds you’ve just got to hang in there and know that it will get better. Things do start to improve. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
Good luck all the best 👍
Thank You
I'm still scared though..
I know what your saying mlp it can be a little scary at times but just know that everyone goes through this and a very large percentage of those come through the other side and have many years of af free time after. Just try to focus on what it’s going to be like once you come through it and YOU WILL! Thats what I’ve tried to think about anyway.
I’ve heard from so many people now that have gone through the same rubbish we’ve gone through/going through that I’ve lost count. An ablation is not easy. It’s a long road but it’s well worth it in the end.
Have you got people with you too help you out and provide support when you need it?
Chin up mlp honestly you will get through it 💪💪
Hi Elli. Thanks for your encouragement. I have been on metoprolol long before this cryoablation. Years ago I had an ablation for skippys and had no problem in recovery and was skip free for years. It was the procedure when you are awake, then sleep, awake, sleep till they find the path that causes it. This cryo was different. I was totally out and the procedure was about 3/12 hours. I still depend on the metoprolol. I have flips everyday, especially after I eat or exert myself in any way. I'm usually a active person but now all I do is sit around. I hate it. So when I feel like this I take a small dose to help. I'm sorry that you are having trouble too. I wish I could help everyone who goes through this. Do you get the flips everyday also?
Not sure if this will help but around 3/4. months ago member called kalgs had a Cryoablation and for the first 2 months he was experiencing a number of problems but more recently his posts have been significantly more positive. I have taken the liberty of making him aware of your post because there are lots of similarities in your experiences so he may be able to help you. I know we keep saying that the recovery process takes time and patience but hearing from someone with more recent experiences might help…….
Thank You
Hi Mip
"This is taking a toll on me mentally"
That's understandable - after a few months you expect things to improve.

They will for you too Mip - of that I'm sure. You have already won more than half the race. 1st you have had your ablation and 2nd you are quite a few months in. I don't know why but I just know things will get better soon for you Mip - you'll see.

Positive is the key word here. Things will get better and that is something to really think about - you are on the mend. Slowly does it - realise that and try to have a positive attitude (easy for me to say I know) towards it. You will get better but don't let it take a toll on you mentally. When you feel like that tell it to do one and be boss.
Good luck - you'll get there.

Hi, I recently came off all meds after having ablation 9 mth ago. I experience quite a few ectopics and fluttering a since coming off. I spoke to EP on the phone the other day and I asked him should I go back on beta blockers? He said no the heart is trying to recalibrate give it time. He also says don’t worry about what the heart is doing as long as you don’t have prolonged episodes of AF. You are probably still in recovery mode and as long as your not in AF try not to worry.
Morning stoney.
How’s it going for you last few days? I’ve not had a tablet since midday Friday and my heart seems to be calming down now 🤞 stamina is still abysmal but not got up yet to test today. Weirdly my rhr has gone down massively overnight. Was consistently mid to high 70s and has dropped to 65 overnight 🤔 hoping that’s a good sign 💪
Yep you seem to be doing ok. I had a funeral to attend on Fri morning, just as I was about to leave I checked my pulse and it was 107, I was stressing a bit and it son came down. My pulse in general seems to range from 70-80. Emailed cardio nurse and he said stay off the blockers your heart is probably calibrating and not to worry. So let’s not worry 👍
I had a rough time at eight weeks after my ablation, right through to the end of 12 weeks when everything then settled down. I'm now two weeks short of six months, and all is still good. Hang in there.
Do you take a beta blocker to help?
Did you get any ecg done post ablation ? Only asking because some times during an ablation you may devolope other arrhythmia god forbid I wish nothing but the best for you but that was recently my case. I think two month is enough buffer period for the heart to acclimate
😬😬😬 hope this isn’t the case! My ticker still recovering almost 5 months later! Obviously this is a possibility but I do think that some people just take longer to recover than others. Especially those with inflammatory issues or those of us who’s immune systems overreact, which may or may not be the same thing under certain circumstances.
Which additional arrhythmia did you develop and how was this diagnosed? Ecg?
Atrial flutter and it was diagnosed through ecg I developed it less than a month after my ablation
How does atrial flutter differ from atrial fibrillation in terms of sensation?
It’s a more organized but rapid heart rate it almost feels like tachycardia. It’s less skippy but it’s high rate and it makes me feel out of breath more .
