Many of us do. Beware there is magnesium and magnesium. The mix is important for example Mg Oxide is not as absorbably as citrate or taurate. If you use the search facility on here you will find lots of posts and theads on various types.
I would (following professional advice) take 200mgs CoQ10 for 3 months then together with a Mg compound such as Mg Taurate or in my case Nutri Megamag Muscleze.
My reasoning: A London Naturopath recommended both these for AF patients and I believe CoQ10 has been the most beneficial for me with HR in the 50s. I understand Mg relaxes the heart and CoQ10 strengthens it.
Caveat: Contra indications or other health issues will need to checked first and 6 monthly tests of levels advisable. Over 7 years and a number of tests I have found my CoQ10 level rests around 10% above the top range figure and my Mg level stubbornly stays at the bottom of the recommended range figure.
There's such a lot of misinformation written about this wonderful chemical element, responsible for so much of what we see on Bonfire Night! As a nutrient, if you eat your greens, you'll be getting plenty as it's abundant in all vegetable matter and in its most absorbable and natural form.
If you want to try taking extra, any kind is well enough absorbed with Milk of Magnesia or Rennies genuinely able to provide all and more. Bob says that magnesium oxide is the least well absorbed, well I'm not so sure since when it hits the stomach it is instantly converted it into magnesium chloride, which is entirely easily absorbed.
I spoke to my GP about this. He checked all my bloods and advised I didn’t really need to take it as all my levels were absolutely fine. Think it’s a personal and individual thing.
I don’t think it’s a good idea. If you are in NSR after a recent cardioversion then leave well alone.I had a cardioversion , was on Amiodarone, in NSR for 3 lovely days then took a vit D tablet and did some ironing ( yes I’m a man, don’t laugh).
Within minutes I was back in a fib and have been ever since.
I can’t say whether it was the tablet or not, I’ll never know.
But who knows what they use as fillers with these tablets, I don’t .
Perversely, I’m now in persistent AF and struggling badly with symptoms, but magnesium has helped me a lot subsequently and I take a supplement of mag citrate daily.
When I went into AF before I had my CV which as you worked well I researched a bit and came across this guy on you Tube. To me he talks a lot of sense about AF and also magnesium. I have posted his you tube link here so you can listen for yourself. Hope this helps
