Post Ablation next stage

It's been 12 weeks since my ablation and has been an uneventful time despite lots of things going on in my life.

The worst symptoms I've experienced since the ablation were some ectopic beats repeating throughout the day when I was extremely stressed about a house sale. It calmed down once I started to relax.

I saw my cardiologist last week and he said I can start to wean myself off the Flecainide and Bisoprolol after my September holiday. This is the good news I wanted as I'm sure the tablets are making me feel very tired.

I'm a little bit wary, but looking forward to cutting out the medication and hoping nothing kicks off.

All good news there. Just go slowly with the weaning off as many people experience a rebound reaction if done too quickly. With propafanone I did it over about six weeks.

Hi Griffin, I posted something similar yesterday, it has been nearly 6 mth since my ablation and I have not had a follow up appointment or a phone call about meds or how I am doing. E mailed cardio nurse yesterday and waiting for reply. Hope you successfully come of the meds, keep us posted on your efforts. Good luck 👍

Hi Griffin.

Sounds like you’ve had a good reaction all in 👍 how old are you? I’m 11 days post ablation and fingers crossed not doing too badly so far 🤞 I’d be interested to hear how the weaning off medication goes for you.

Good luck 😀👍

I'm 58. I'll still be on rivaroxaban for another few months, but that doesn't bother me.

Wow, Griffin9! I am blown away by your cardiologist saying you can wean yourself off of Flecainide. My cardiologist would have never uttered those words. I did it all by myself after years of being on those drugs. Flecainide was the first to go. I felt so much better without it. Metoprolol was the next to go. My cardiologist actually said he wished it was in the water. The only drug I kept taking was the enteric aspirin 81mg/day. Do it slowly and good luck to you.
