My cardiologist switched my anticoagulant a week ago from Pradaxa to Xarelto. The day after I started, my heart rate increased from around 60-70 to 90-100. Although my heart rate has increased occasionally since my afib diagnosis, it usually settles back to normal with an extra dose of flecainide but this tactic hasn't worked this time. I'm wondering if I'm just having a stubborn episode or if the Xarelto is causing this increased rate. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have been on Xarelto for almost five years and can say that I have not experienced any rise in heart rate.
I have been on it for 2 years, and no problem at all.

Never heard of such a reaction.
I’ve been on Pradaxa 3 years now and have not noticed any increase from that
I switched from Pradaxa to Xarelto nearly 3 years ago, as Pradaxa gave me digestive issues. I've had no problems with Xarelto.
No rise for me with Xarelto. Was on Eliquis and went from that to Xarelto the next day with no problems.
