My heart rate was normally in the mid 40's and it was not regarded as a problem until I had a 7 day monitor and they noted 3.7 second pauses between beats and fitted a pacemaker. When I went to have it fitted the other patient had been found to have a heart rate of 26 bpm when he was having tests prior to a hip replacement.
It amused me once at A&E when a nurse who noticed it asked if I had once been extremely fit. I said that was something no one could ever accuse me of.
Mine is always in the 40's. Lowest it's been is 32. Cardiologist would prefer it on the lower side. Im on bisoprolol 5mg twice a day. I do get tired most days but am used to it after 5 year
