Have you had extra missed beats since you reduced to 1.25mgs and how long is it since you dropped to 1.25.
I was taking 2.5mgs but reducing slowly and have had palpitations and missed beats. I think it may be caused by your drop in Bisoprolol but once you body gets accustomed to the new dose it should regulate. If you are having any breathlessness or chest pain and would contact you GP or hospital
I reduced the dose because I thought the bisoprolol is causing the missed beats!
It has been only few days since I reduced the dose, I still have the skipped beats ,however ,they are less. frequent but I am abit concerned they might get worse as i can’t stop meds totally ,I will have palpitations the second or third day after stopping the meds .
It takes a couple of weeks for the palps to slow down after a reduction in meds and the same if you were to stop it completely. I actually started to take it for palpitations but it made mine worse I then started to take 300mgs of magnesium sulphate a day and that help tremendously. I am now weaning off the biso all together but the side effects are worse then any of the effects on starting the biso. If you have got to wean down I would do it very very slowly it is going to take me until August this year to stop completely and then I am expecting rebound symptoms for several week after. You may be one of the lucky ones and not have any withdrawal symptoms if you have to come off it.
Hi it all depends what you are taking Bisoprolol for ? I know you say skipped beats are they pvc / pacs / ectopic beats / it all depends. I started in iMarch 2019 with what I described has palpitations. to cut a long story short after many scans a tests it turned out to be VT which resulted me in having an ICD fitted I also take Bisoprolol 20mg which is not helping the PVC I’m now waiting for an appointment to see an EP hopefully to get an ablation. By way I have VT healthy heart no cardiomyopathy.
Yes I am taking biso for ectopics ,pacs and pvc’s. Was getting them for up to five hours at a time with bigeminal and trigeminal beats. I now have a loop recorder fitted to find out why this was happening but until I can get of the biso and through the rebound period it will not show true readings. Fortunately all my other hear tests were within normal range.
Thx for the reply hope all goes well with your appt
after the ablation for afib the dr couldn’t stop bisoprolol as i was having postural tachy cardia
recently after being on bisoprolol over 2-3 ys I am getting skipped beats and vent ectopics so the dr decided to stop the meds and tach cardia is on and off still having tthe ectopics but no skipped beats!
