I use Magnesium oil very occasionally, great for leg cramps. I only get ectopics as a pre-cursor to AF and nowadays that is usually only when I have an infection.

Many people thing that Magnesium does help and as I can’t take oral Mag then Epsom Salt bathing and the oil is the only way I can tolerate it.

Hi CDreamer, what happens if you took it Oral?

Because I am Myasthenia - it could seriously compromise my ability for muscles, including swallowing & breathing so could be life threatening. Even 2mg in food supplement made me very weak but as long as I am very careful the oil or Epsom Salt Bath is OK.

Yes, I use transdermal magnesium oil because i wanted to supplement my magnesium but not via the digestive system. I spray it on daily after my shower, and then I let it soak in for at least half an hour.

Incidentally, I used to resent the ‘waste’ of time, but it works so well for me that it’s worth anything! And in fact I’ve built in some habits during that daily time that I really cherish now (prayer, mindfulness, stretches etc) 😊

I feel i have had less arrhythmia (including ectopics) since using the magnesium seriously - when I didn’t put much on it didn’t make any difference :)

I find it soaks in better after a shower, and it seems to make sense to me that it’s more effective going in on clean skin, but I’m only guessing! I also shower after it’s soaked in, as a don’t like the slightly sticky feel.

I used to just do it on my arms and legs, but now I do my stomach, chest and back too. Definitely my feet and back of my neck too, especially if I’m using it at night, as it’s supposed to aid sleep :)

If I haven’t got time to do the ‘full works’ I just do my feet and neck.

Is it helping you? Which brand do you use? X

Meant to say that I’d take a bath in Epsom salts like CDreamer if I could - it’s thought to be very effective. (But I have broken skin through eczema, and the pain is excruciating if I try!!)
