Hi

I do. I take Magnesium and Zinc suppliment, plus Vitamin D, Omega 3, 6 & 9 and I make sure I eat a banana a day for the potassium.
They're all the things I read (somewhere, can't remember now) were good for the heart.
Wether they have had an effect or not is difficult to tell as I also take a cocktail of meds and have altered my diet quite a bit since being diagnosed.
If your tests show you low on magnesium then I would talk to my doctor about supplements. I wouldn't fool around with adding vitamins on my own. I take vitamin d(prescribed) and like joebob have a banana a day. Magnesium and potassium are important for the health of your heart from what I've read. Just bounce this stuff off your physician first.
Doesn't everybody?
I take Magnesium and CQ10 having read lots of posts from other members in the past on this forum. It may be a placebo effect, but I think his has helped me feel better.
The amount of magnesium advised on other AF websites is as much as your bowel will tolerate . If you take too much it will make your bowels too loose.
I take 900-1100mg a day. What I did was to start off on 400mg then increased it daily until I got the dose right.

Have a look at the post entitled 'PAF TRIGGERS' by munningsc from 2 days ago.
Also, if you have Kindle, download the free sample of 'Conquer Your A-Fib' by Lisa M. White. Magnesium plays a big part in her story.
It was me that started that thread. After the comments on magnesium I thought it might be worth giving it a try. Went and talked to our local pharmacist yesterday and she was aware that some people do take the supplement but was concerned that you should get your magnesium level checked in a blood test before starting to take it. Apparently there are some side effects if you take too much and taking the supplement when your level is OK could give rise to that.
I had my annual diabetes blood test this week but I don't think they check for magnesium. I'll check it out with my GP when I go to discuss my results and will let you know what his opinion is.

I take these, 1 per day
uk.iherb.com/Enzymatic-Ther...
My cardiologist says it wont hurt, but he cant say it will help either.
I have started taking a multi-mineral supplement (Holland & Barrett) 3 a day. Also high strength omega 3 fish oil capsule. Helping I think!
Best wishes
As a result of a blood test before Christmas My GP sent me to A&E for a magnesium infusion as my Magnesium was very low. Since then I have been subscribed a chewable tablet called Magnesium Glycerophosphate 97.2 mg. I take 2 per day . My GP says that I need to keep the magnesium levels up as it affects the heart rhythms. I am to have a blood test in March to see how the supplement is working. Is anyone else on this supplement?
