Had my 6 month doctor appt today. Still having some arrythmia issues but much better than before the ablation. EP and I discussed future treatment. Will need another ablation at some point. Have decided to stop taking Flecanide to see how I do. Next appt in 3 months.

6 months post ablation
Great news that you are feeling so much better and your EP sounds as if he is doing a good job. Some describe the second ablation as 'tying up the loose ends'. Hope all goes well.
You are at the same stage as I am. I have my 6 months check on Friday. I am anxious about it as I have the problem of arrhythmia nurses inputting inaccurate facts on my records and this needs to be addressed (stress and bp???)
I stopped Flecainide very gradually as I believe that a sudden stop is a shock to your system. It gives me enormous confidence to retain tablets for use as a pill- in-the- pocket. I have some with me, hidden in my wallet, at all times.
Best wishes.
I'm much the same, although my ablation was a year ago. I'm considerably improved - I've been off flecainide for nearly 8 months and have had brief AF once in the last 3 months. I've been offered another ablation and am towards the bottom of a long waiting list. If I continue as I am, I will probably opt not to have the procedure, but I'm waiting to see how things go and will accept my EPs advice.
My "episodes" haven't been AF but are just as bothersome. EP said the goal is no meds and feeling great. No rush for another ablation but he's confident it will do the trick. Sorry about your wait list. Are there that many folks needing it?
I had my ablation in sept last year, I was prescribed the Flecainide but they made me feel so ill, headaches all day, dizzy and sick, I took them in morning, did you have a better time to take them? I'm not currently taking them due to side effects.
I still experience arrhythmia but like yourself not as bad, next week I'm having a heart monitor for a week, then back to the cardiologist in June, possible second ablation.
First I was on Multaq but due to side effects I was changed to the Flec. I had to take it 12 hours apart so I took it at 9am and 9 pm. Used the alarm on my phone to remember. Sorry to hear about your side effects - I was fortunate not to experience that.
Sounds like we are on the same track. At least we do have the opportunity for another ablation.
