Ectopics and magnesium, how long does it take

I have been in permanent ectopic for best part of 2 weeks with breathlessness and it is driving me crazy. I am starting to feel quite low in mood. I started magnesium last Sunday, how long does it take before I feel any effect?

You may not I'm afraid. Have you tried the slow deep breatahing exercise so many of us find helpful? Use search facility for details.

Ah ok thank you BobD. So how will magnesium help? A lot of people mention it on here. I do do the breathing exercise and it does help but not for very long.

The type of magnesium salt you take can make a difference. Most of the cheaper magnesium supplements are magnesuim oxide which is supposed to have a low absorption. Dr Gupta recommends magnesium taurate . This is supposed to be best for afib and ectopics. I find that taking my magnesium in 3 small doses rather than the same amount once a day also helps. Some magnesium supplements also contain vit B6 . I think this is supposed to help with absorption too.

This is part of the problem when saying magnesium helps as you rightly point out that mag. oxide has an extremely low absorption rate . Its some thing like for every 100mg of mag. oxide only 5mg is absorbed so picking the right mag. supplement is crucial or else your just flushing it away.

It won't hurt, magnesium is required in all of our cells .

I know that it has helped to lower my blood pressure and I get better sleep

I don’t take it, but my dog is on it. The trainers told me about 10 days.
