Nattokinase Supplements

Has anybody used Nattokinase supplements for it’s anticoagulation properties? After two ablations my heart is doing well. I had a 3 day monitor fitted recently and I was in sinus all the time apart from 38 seconds of AF which I didn’t feel. I was gutted to hear this but it did revert back in its own which it didn’t do before. My EP doesn’t think I need to go on an anticoagulant so I thought this might be a good alternative. My chads score is 1 for being female :)

As a well know doctor far more clever than I has told us here there are no quantifiable and reliable "natural" anticoagulants. If your score is one for being female then why take something uncontrolable for little good reason ?

Yes I've used nattokinase for 5/6 years without any side effects whatsoever. My doctor, and consultant he referred me to had never heard of nattokinase. You would think they would once in a while Google their chosen speciality to keep themselves up to date despite the fact they would be struck off if they attempted to prescribe it

I've been on nattokinase since early 2015 and I feel it's working. I take 1 Doctor's Best Nattokinase 2,000 Fu every day but also take 800mg turmeric x2 , 400 IU vitamin E x1 and co-q10 200mg daily. Occasionally say every 3-4 days I'll take a second nattokinase at night. Feel fine. I say go for it.

Hi there, Rita here from Fl, I see from an older post you are from Chico, I lived in Paradie for some time and worked at Enloe, now retired. I too, am trying a natural route to blood thinners. May I ask what brand tumeric you are taking? I'm not taking vit E, what does that do? Thanks for the info on Nattakinase.

I use Drs' Best Nattokinase 2400fu capsules. I take 1 / day and occasionally 2 per day. NAttokinase has been tested by of all places nih.gov (National institutes of Health in USA) as being as effective in DISSOLVING clots as Plasmin - a DR prescribed and used clot buster/preventer. "NK is four times more effective than plasmin at dissolving a thrombus in rats in vivo6" ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

"In conclusion, a single-dose of NK intake could be a useful fibrinolytic/anticoagulant agent to reduce the risk of thrombosis in humans. Further studies on NK are required to determine the details of metabolism, effective dosage and frequency, and safety for human use. Moreover, human trials demonstrating the clinical benefits of this action are limited, with no outcome data is available currently regarding this agent as an alternative to tPA, aspirin, warfarin, or newer anticoagulants."

"The papers I'll share today fall into this category, providing evidence for nattokinase, a very simple and readily available supplement, to have a surprisingly large effect on atherosclerotic lesions in humans. After six months of treatment, a third of the lesions were removed."

Good enough for me!

I missed your question about turmeric. I've been "rolling my own" for about 2 years. I buy Anthony's Organic raw turmeric in a 2 lb bag. Then I purchased a capsule machine from Amazon (turmeric from amazon too.) I grind my own "pepperine" I take whole fresh peppercorns and run them triogh a coffee grinder after cleaning it, then put into a mortar / pestal to make it fine and mix in proportions that you can find by googling. I make a batch of 200-300 capsules using #00 capsules also from amazon. I calculate without my labor that it costs me about $8.00 per 200 capsule jar.

amazon.com/Coffee-Capsule-S... $48.00

amazon.com/Organic-Turmeric... $10.00/2 lbs

amazon.com/Capsules-Express... 1000 capsule $15.00

I usually do this while either listening to radio or watching a movie.

Are you still taking the natural supplements for blood thinner? Nattokinase, tumeric, vitamin e and coq 10? How are you doing?

I've been doing fine. I take one Diltiezem 360 time release for rythmn control only per day. Mornings heart rate is usually about 68-80. I've been taking that combination since fall 2015. I feel like I have a lot more energy since I got off of the blood thinners and the blood pressure medicines. When first diagnosed I was on 340mg Diltiezen 3 times/day, Linisipril twice a day, Warfarin and Metropolol 25mg twice a day. I could barely function. Oxygen levels 97%, BP varies - from rest times of 118/70 to highs of 160/90 when I'm stressed or have been lax on taking my "meds."

Now I do stuff in garage, just wrenched on my motorcycle this weekend (yes, I still ride thank God). I turn 65 in December.

One more item I've been taking that really has seemed to help

Jiang Ya Pian (HypertenSure™) 200 mg 200 Tablets

Instructions say to take 7 small pills twice to 3 times a day. I upped it to 8 3 times a day. This has really helped my BP.

Good for you! I've read the book " The Paleo Cardiologist" . Dr Wolfson in Arizona. He's high priced but a very knowledgeable holistic cardio Dr. He used to be a "regular" cardiologist. Best in his league. Got many awards. But he wasn't happy that his patients weren't really getting well on the pills and ablations and whatnot. Met his wife who is a chiropractor and she basically told him he wasn't treating the whole patient. Just the symptoms. What she said really sunk in and he went holistic. He's high price. Doesn't take insurance cause insurance doesn't pay for natural treatments. But he's helped a lot of people. He's a little full of himself but what he says is true. His guidelines for lifestyle change are a little hard to follow if you don't have big pockets. Nor does he advocate anyone going off their drugs without talking to their Drs. He works with natural products and with a company who he has worked with and developed supplements. One which is nattokinase and serrapeptase. He's put many of his patients on it and other natural supplements with very good results. He doesn't poo poo drugs or procedures. He knows that there are people who still need to take them and people who still need to have an ablation or whatever. But he knows in order for an ablation to work the person needs to be in the best health they can be before the procedure. And most of these cardio Drs don't even look past the symptoms. Are your vitamins okay? Your minerals? Is your sodium, potassium, magnesium etc in balance. What other health problems do you have that might hinder your healing? I was just recently diagnosed with Afib and the metoprolol especially was causing me horrible side effefts. Actually making things worse. Right away he says you'll probably have to have an ablation. When I brought up looking for any deficiencies he almost blew a gasket. That's not doctoring. That's just throwing pills at somebody and saying good luck. That's just sad. So I started lowering the dose of metoprolol til I was taking 6.2 mg twice a day and it still bothered me. Then just finally quit it. I was losing weight, could barely function. Lots of side effects. Told cardio Dr I would take it as pip. He said okay. What a jerk. My BP is good. Average 100 to a little over 120 over average of 60. And heart rate averages in 60's. Taking magnesium and vitamin C and vitamin D. Coq 10. Fish oil . Still on the Eliquis and it has bad side effects for me too. Not as bad as the metoprolol. I'm one who's always been super sensitive to prescription meds. So I'd love to get off the Eliquis too. But I can tolerate it . I am a person who has had anxiety and stress my whole life. 68 yr old female. So I'm trying to get those better. Hard to do cause the side effects of the Eliquis stress me. Drs don't like to hear about tests for deficiencies or natural supplements because those things don't make them the big money. So sad. Sad more for the patients. Sorry for the long post. I'm so happy you are doing well.

I'm seriously thinking of trying nattokinase. May I ask what dose you take? From what I've read the usual dose is 100mg 2 times per day. Some people may need 3 times a day. Also there is lumbrokinase which doesn't have soy like the natto. Did you decide to take the nattokinase with Drs okay or go on your own? The cardio I have is strictly pharmaceuticals. Wish he'd take them. Thanks. Take care.

I was using nattokinase but still had a suspected TIA though nothing could be seen on the brain scan. I have bitten the bullet and started Apixaban.
