Migraines

Afternoon, i am 9 weeks post cryoablation and in the week following the procedure I had 4 or 5 migraines with aura, I wasn't surprised as I'd read the fact sheet, and then they stopped after about a week. But I have recently been having side effects from omeprazole and diltiazem. Gp took me off omeprazole a few weeks ago and the diltiazem effects got worse so I stopped it yesterday, unable to get a GP appointment! Both yesterday and today I've had migraines with aura. Having read up calcium channel blockers are used to treat migraine.

So my question is could the migraines still be due to the ablation after 9 weeks? or is this just a stopping diltiazem withdrawal effect? Thank you x

This is my sixth week after an ablation and as usual, I have been plagued with mind-bending headache. The first week headache everyday. Last week, a headache everyday and I only take Xarelto and Metropolol. This is my third ablation and headaches are part of the course and follow the same pattern as the other two. I had two cardioversions, and the headaches were even worse for the first three days.

We are all dfferent obviously but most people have found the aura effect of the transeptal puncture usually only lasts a couple of weeks.

If the Doctor permits, you could try magnesium. It has been used successfully to diminish or remove migraine pain.

There is a book "Just Keep Calm and Take Some Magnesium" by James Lee. Might offer some help.
