Magnesium Taurate is the type which is more often recommended. Try searching for Dr Sanjay Gupta’s videos on magnesium. BioCare produce a Taurate which is less expensive than others......if you search using the box top right of this page you will find lots of information.

Here's Dr Gupta's recommendation:

I take magnesium glycinate which is also recommended by Dr Gupta.

It is more easily obtainable and cheaper than mag taurate . I started taking mag taurate but switched to mag glycinate after a ridiculous price hike on the former. The favourable results I experienced remain the same or perhaps even enhanced more so by mag glycinate.

I have been getting my magnesium from a company called YourSupplements via Amazon and find them excellent to deal with. Alot of the magnesium tablets are huge ( horse tablet size !) which I find difficult to swallow so I look for capsules.

Hi Jane

I agree with FlapJack below, as I take the same make & magnesium as he mentions. You can order it on Amazon. They seem to be helping me, so far so good 😊

Best wishes Ally

Is anyone familiar with ionic magnesium drops? If so, is this type of magnesium as effective as magnesium in pill form? I have seen that ND's recommend this form of magnesium, but I have not seen it recommended by MD's, or anyone on this site for that matter. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Dr Gupta recommends magnesium taurate and I must say I feel tons better on this.

Hi mavisrich, can I ask in what way do you feel better, and how quickly after starting them did you see a noticeable difference? I have been really suffering with lethargy and ectopics which get worse when tired/stressed etc. The ectopics don’t really bother me, but the lethargy is affecting me at work, and home. Trouble is blood tests don’t really show up any magnesium deficiency, so i’’be taken the plunge and ordered a load from BioCare Mag Taurate.

Hi there I get my mag taurate from the Finchley Clinic they are quite reasonable. I only take one a day I will take the recommended two if and when I get worse. The mag taurate have helped by calming my heart so that I do not have the feeling and banging that went on in my chest. I still feel very tired that is the bisoprolol. I totally would not do without the mag taurate now no matter what my mag levels were, if there is any surplus it is flushed out of your system but I honestly believe and know that I have felt better on mag taur and not had as many horrible symptons. it does not cure afib but certainly makes it easier to bear.

Lethargy can be a side affect of your medication , I felt the same as you ( less the ectopics thou ) when I was on Sotalol.

But since I have been on Magnesium Taurate and Chelate (Malate ) with the addition of CoQ10 and L-Carnitine as recommended by Dr. Stephen Sinatra in his book , I have had no lethargy or even feeling tired . So something is working.

Generally had to fine tune what is recommended and make it suit yourself.

Dr. Sinatra’s protocol for afib is EXCELLENT!

I used the ones recommend by Dr Gupta magnesium turate and they worked a treat, but they are a bit expensive, so I switched to some I found on amazon the same ingredients and so far so good!

Hi Janith,

Yes we have Amazon UK but sadly your product not mentioned there.

Lots of them here have stearates and cellulose in them. Not able to find a 'pure' type, or other things added that I do not need.

Many thanks though

Janex
