Sipping warm/hot water until it resolves and eat nothing. If you get really bad heartburn then I find the best thing is Liquid Gaviscon, you can buy a pack of single dose packs to carry around with you - follow with water.

Definitely in my view.

Also avoid lying down after eating, I think its recommended waiting 2 hours. Some people have gastric reflux, like a gravity thing, the acid in your stomach that helps with digestion wants to travel up your esophagus instead of staying in your stomach. People with severe reflux elevate the heads of their beds.

I would go and see an Alternative Practitioner e.g. Functional Medicine person, 25 of them from the Wessex area (UK) met up yesterday, saw their photo on Twitter; I believe they are the future and an important part of an AFers team.

I’ve had acid reflux/indigestion for many years. I’ve used all sorts of indigestion remedies but I now virtually don’t need to take any of those. I now have two teaspoons of acid cider vinegar in a cup of warm water before I eat anything first thing in the morning. It works a treat for me Been taking it now for 6 or7 months. I have to say at the beginning it tasted horrible but now I’m really fine with it. Actually it helps wake me up in the morning LOL

Hi, I know it's a while since you wrote this but with your remedy, does it last the whole day or do you do it each time you eat or at night... Interested to know so I can give it a go.. Thanks

I only take it once in the morning before eating anything.

Do you eat drunk lots of milk/butter/dairy stuff? For a long time I put up belching, bloating and great heartfelt burping. You can get a lactose test done by your GP and the results come back quickly. In Tesco's and other supermarkets you can get lactose free milk and lactose free butter without bankrupting yourself.

In my case - eat butter start belching, stop the butter sleep peacefully. You can also get 'free from' , biscuits, bread. etc. You can also get cakes but I try to avoid complex, sugar filled foods if I can. I didn't bother with the test as the results were blindingly obvious.

You can also get lactase pills from chemists and some specialist food shops, but you have to remember to take them before you eat.

Thank you will look in Tesco when I go on Friday Are they in a special section

In my local Tesco extra they are in the dairy aisle - Arla Lacto FREE semi skimmed milk drink in a green carton (or red -skimmed or blue full fat drink). Tesco also do an own brand version Priced at £1 for (at the moment) 1 litre carton - USUALLY IN WITH THE SOYA, ETC, DRINKS. In my Tesco they are on the bottom shelf.

The butter is Arla Lacto FREE spreadable and it is usually close by. They also do cheese as well.

With the free from cakes and biscuits you have to look carefully - some are Gluten free and Wheat free, some are GF free and wheat free and dairy free. They are usually in the free from section.
