Hi all, presently on apixaban, digoxin, adizam, and statins recently had a two lead pacemaker. 13 years open heart surgery for a mitral valve repair. My GP a few weeks ago gave frusemide, now feeling queasy, and a horrid taste in mouth. I have stopped frusemide today , my thinking is that’s the problem always have problem with meds, anyone had the same probs ? Thanks

Unfortunately the more meds we take - the more the opportunity for interactions, absorption difficulties and side effects - then you take meds for the side effects - mmm...... I try to take only the essentials then cope with everything else with life style and nutrition but it’s not easy!

Do you take as a diuretic? If so it maybe important for you right now so maybe see if there is an alternative?

I now don’t take any Heart meds other than AntiCoagulants which I do consider essential. Maybe discuss with your GP and or pharmacist.

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately the heart meds are essential as I have permanent af, and a slight leaky valve, plus left ventricular problem. Hopefully leaving frusemide off will help

But isn’t that a diuretic? I would have thought - but you need to check with your doctor - that would be essential.
