how to increase energy after receiving a pacemaker
Hi aksarben, I am jumping in with the first reply to your post, by the looks of it.
I had a pacemaker 3 years ago and know that my energy levels had dropped significantly before eventually having a pacemaker. You don't indicate your age, but there have passed 7 years since your pacemaker.
I took a little while to recuperate to a better level after my pacemaker and I guess what I am trying to say is, there will have been a natural ageing to one's energy levels after 7 years and maybe you should keep this in mind?
I know I have had to come to terms that I will never get back to where I was before I started to have heart problems. I know without the pacemaker I would not be at the health levels I have achieved to date and it's hard to remember we are getting older and a little slower anyway as the years pass.
I am now in my 60's now and just keep my eyes on keeping as fit as I can for my age and health condition. I think I would be happy with 75% energy levels to what I had 7 years ago :))
Could you ask your doc if you might do better having your pulse rate tweaked? Worth a try. Not all of us do well at the (mostly) usual rate of 70. This can be done in the clinic with the big magnet they plop on your chest. Worth a try. You can always be reset back to your original rate if you don't feel better.
