Pacemaker, more energy?

Ablation 2017 seems to have taken care of afib. Recently advised I'll need pacemaker (sinus pause).

My HR is generally in low 50s.

Has anyone found renewed energy with a pacemaker?

My neighbour's sister had one fitted for this several months ago and has been far better with it than she was before.

What duration are your pauses, how many seconds and frequency of. Have they been captured by wearing a holter monitor or implantable loop recorder. Do they cause you to collapse ie into unconsciousness or rather to feel faintness. I am in a similar position to you re sinus pause so understand how they feel.

My heart "felt " wrong. I though afib was returning. Was fitted with a zio monitor for 10 days. When results were returned it noted no afib but a "pause" that was close to 3 seconds. Dr. felt this pause, along with a HR of 50 or less makes me a candidate for a pacemaker.

Hi Kathie, I had a Pacemaker r fitted several years ago and I felt much better from day 1! My heartrate was in the 30's and now is sitting around 60 or so all of the time and I can exercise without becoming breathless or puffed out.. I am sure you will benefit from it...I certainly did. all the best for the future Kathie...take care.♥

Yes I absolutely have energy with a three lead pacemaker. I also have a fib my two oblations did not work. Was on powerful Tikyson to control afib. The doctor just took me off that concerned about it being too toxic. But I definitely have more energy with the pacemaker. I’m hoping it controls my a fib. Good luck!
