NOSH &NATTER NORTH WEST
Thank you! There are now 11 of us.
It's thanks to Ian (Beancounter) really as I've been to two Nosh and Natters in London and it's been eye opening and inspirational to meet people who not only have AF all the time but manage to live with it and not let it stand in their way excessively. It's equally enlightening to meet someone for whom things went wrong, like having a tamponade. It all puts my occasional little wobble thoroughly in the shade.
I'm hoping we might have a regular North West get-together, perhaps on the first Tuesday of every other month or every third month.
I originally suggested Frodsham as a venue. It has a station and is close to a motorway and might suit those in North Wales as well. March or April perhaps as we are doing Bent's on Sep 6th, then Grange-over-Sands or Lancaster in November and I've suggested Blackpool on Jan 6th which is a Friday. Jan 2nd (first Tuesday) would not be the best day. And I think school holidays are best avoided. Crewe? Manchester? Liverpool? Lots of scope. There's always Patients' Day in October too.
Brilliant that you are organising!!!
Thanks, Peter. I'm hoping it might be something that will be self-generating, though that would be easier if we stuck to the same venue.
That is always one of the dilemmas!!!
The first thing is to set a regular week and day and interval. Personally I think every other month is better then quarterly and that way if someone misses one it is not 6 months so psychologically they may feel out of it.
You have selected week and day and that is a good one because it avoids bank holidays and Christmas period. Even if fewer people you can still do in August!!
As for venues you will have to see what most want but making it near motorway / main roads; train stations and buses is an excellent start.
Good luck.
Thanks, Peter. Something to discuss when we meet - if we are short of a topic!
I suspect that time will run away with itself!!!!
It has done on previous gatherings!
Great news Rellim.....I'm sure it will be a great success.....hope all goes well for the folks in the NW 'n N Wales.......John
Just chat, though, John. No speaker like you have in Epsom! But I'm sure we will have plenty to natter about. Thanks for your good wishes.
I'm looking forward to it, although I feel a bit of a fraud as since my ablation last December I have not had any problems apart from the anticoagulant.
